Never before have I had such a luxury bath experience in the comfort of my own home till I found Lola’s Apothecary’s Queen of Roses collection, full of aromatherapy delights for bathtime and skincare. Their Tale of the Winter Rose set is a wonderful gift for yourself or a loved one, and contains a sumptuous array of products- Queen of Roses Bath Milk (300ml), Delicate Romance Balancing Body & Massage Oil (100ml), Delicate Romance Naturally Fragrant Candle (220g, 45hr + burn time), Delicate Romance Balancing Bath & Shower Oil (100ml) and Clementine Calamity Relaxing Wellness Tea Bags.

Nothing feels more decadent than to use rose petals in the bath, and combined with a combination of bath milk (Vegan) inspired by the baths of Cleopatra, it leaves my skin needing no moisturiser at all afterwards as it contains natural softening properties of coconut and shea butter. The massage oils are so fragrant and naturally aromatic, containing a heady mix of natural ingredients such as rosehip seed oil, patchouli and sandalwood. The candle is a wonderful bonus to the bathtime and really adds to the spa-like ambience I create using this set- the glass is designed by British illustrator Deborah Ballinger. Unlike most harmful paraffin and soy candle, Lola’s Apothecary have made the candle using plant waxes and it completely fills the room with a serene aroma when lit.

For a zingier element to my bath, I have been enjoying BeYou Bath Bombs. After a long day it’s so enjoyable to watch these explode with the natural scene of their essential oils. These bombs really pack a huge amount of glorious scent into them and my favourite is the Lemon & Neroli and Orange Leaf & Grapefruit.

When it comes to any monthly cramping and pain, I reach for Dr Ed PMS Bath Salt, which contains CBD which is said to alleviate pain. This vegan, cruelty free and THC free bath salt is a wonderful addition to the shower and feels like a welcome break for my body, containing eucalyptus, ginger and sage. I love to see brands combining modern products with traditional healing methods for women’s cycles, and Dr Ed is a brand pioneer of science-backed beauty.

I am a long-term fan of Embryolisse products, and have recently been sweeping their Hydra-Mat Emulsion on my skin. I love the way it gives my skin a near matte effect and subtle dewy glow thanks to added apricot oil in the ingredients. It’s such a simple apply-and-go product that it’s been very well suited to lockdown living where I have been keeping things natural.

If I’m after something deep and nourishing I will turn to Biossance, and in this Winter UK weather I have been craving more restorative products in my skincare regime. Their Vegan friendly Squalane + Vitamin C Rose facial oil from Cult Beauty contains Chios crystal oil (gathered from trees native to Chios, Greece) and Damascus rose extract. This has been a blessing of a product as it is light to wear, but also plumps and softens my skin and balances my tone.

Another much welcome addition to my beauty cabinet for all over care is their 100% Squalane Oil which can be used for full hydration on the body, face and hair. I love using this after a bath or shower to really lock in the moisture. Biossance products fully support the environment through ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients, as well as being a cruelty-free and Vegan brand.

I have been keeping my skin repaired throughout the night with Seed To Skin’s gorgeous The Midnight Miracle Cell Recovery Oil which really restores skin through a process of cell regeneration, improving skin texture, and reducing scarring and fine lines. Containing essential oils such as Wild Rose, Sandalwood and Rose Geranium, the product is beautifully (and naturally) fragrant and feels like a real treat to use. My favourite way is to enjoy this product is with my Jade Crystal Roller as it feels like a really mindful way to drop into myself before I go to bed.

Pillow Mist is one of my favourite bedtime rituals. Just the combination of calming and natural fragrance really helps me settle my body for sleep. Tropic So Sleepy pillow mist has been my best bedtime friend this Winter, and it contains combination of premium distilled oils in the blend such as lavender, frankincense and chamomile. I am off to sleep in no time, and especially so if I have a bath before bed using Tropic’s luxury bath foam from the same range which feels like being in an aromatherapy spa.

With the beauty salons in an uncertain position during lockdown, it’s been a challenge to do small maintenance in my beauty (routine and to be honest tweezing is never at the forefront of my mind). However, using Rubis Six Gold Stars Tweezers have been so superior in terms of accuracy for brow shaping and hair removal that I needn’t worry I am overlooking any stray hairs. They just feel expert compared to most tweezers I have used over the years.

When it comes to skin MOT maintenance, I have been enjoying Clinisoothe+ Skin Purifier which really balances my skin and protects from pollution. It’s for use after cleansing and before toning, to provide a cleansing antimicrobial solution for the skin. I often get sensitive to new products, but brilliantly it is fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, non-toxic and doesn’t contain parabens, sulphate, alcohol etc that can be abrasive to skin.
